Dave Allen’s Office
I found this on You 2.0 and as a GTD fan found it interesting.
I found this audio of Merlin Mann on on MaxFunCon discussing the process of creative work, its realy funny especial the bit about the seduction community and the iPhone.
I have just installed the new version of Pocket Informant and why it is early in the day I am realy impressed by the GTD functionality.
Still early days but with less than 1 hour of use, I still need to see about a form of desk top synchronisation but may have found my trusted system.
Having been a fan for GTD for some time and talking about it in this blog, I was contacted by Dan Baluta of GTDAgenda to review the product. My initial opinion was positive as it contained a simple web interface and I was pleased by how well it transfered on to the mobile site on my Touch HD.
I also like the Goals and Check Lists functionality which helps to focus the planing on reviewing things from a more strategic and long term focus. This along with the ease of use made me try two weeks using GTDAgenda instead of Outlook.
Many of you may have realised by now that I am Getting Things Done user/fan which has helped to focus my work only on productive tasks and then planning my working week much better. One of the main tools that I have used for this over the years has been Pocket Informant and Windows Mobile, mainly because of the agile nature of my working week.
Why does this work for me? I am on the move and need to have the GTD system accessible from several devices in different locations. Windows Mobile can function as part of your trusted system with just a little few changes, I will outline briefly how I have set the system up and will look to detail more in later blogs.
Design Patterns have been a big thing for me over the last few years and have been important in the design of several projects, I recently found this presentation from Macworld by Merlin Mann. As always the presentation shows a complex concept in a simple way.

As part of my constant drive to improve productivity and free up more time by doing only the important tasks. I have been using GTD from David Allen as a system for managing my workload.
I found this execlent interview by Robert Scoble with David Allen its worth spending the 30 minutes to get a overview of the system. Continue reading
This is another Merlin Mann talk on Google engEUD discussing the subject of Inbox Zero and applying many of the Get Things Done process to your working life. Inbox Zero is perhaps initially the most satisfying of all the GTD outcomes.
Just seen this video from Google EngEDU with Merlin Mann on managing you attention and time, its worth watching. I have been a big fan of 43folders.com for over 2 years.
It has some fantastic advice on managing meetings and relationships with in teams, Also a section on the correct use of subject lines in email which is my greatest frustration.
