I was invited as Aidan Hetherington to take part in the panel for the IBC the other panel members were Alex MacPhie, Jeremy Webster and Scott Mcarthur. It was good to see the enthusiasm and drive of the future of the consulting industry and grow the links between Edinburgh University and the IBC.

The Institute of Business Consulting held its Awards at the Langham Hotel in London, the best attended Awards so far with around 190 attendees. The entry standard was extremely high. A good night was had by all and I am looking forward to the next year.
I was pleased to Sarah Goodwin of InDepth Consulting receive an award reflecting her long term support of the IBC.
I just thought i would post some images from the night.

As you may know IBC Scotland has adopted Challenges World Wide as their social enterprise of choice. This decision was made not only on the basis of CWW being a very worthwhile cause but also in view of the potential to benefit both CWW and IBC Scotland. These links include real professional development opportunities for members which allow them to head up or be a substantial contributor to some major projects on a global basis.
CWW offers obvious potential for IBC members to increase their value and profile from the experience they would gain from the CWW Projects.

As a result of the close relationship which is being cultivated by Investors in People Scotland and Institute of Business Consulting. I am pleased see the first co-branded Development Programme being launched that will help Business Advisors to understand and support their clients through the New IIP Process.
The development programme will provide delegates with the knowledge and skills to support clients implementing the Investors in People Principles.
Recognition as a IIP Associate (endorsed by IIP UK) will allow you to help and work with companies in preparation for receiving recognition from IIP. This allows the Advisor/Consultant to not only add value through the work they are already doing with their clients but with IIP help to add more value to the business.
The three day course will be delivered in two sections:

The event last night held in 29 Exchange Square was perhaps one of the best of these events I have been to for some time. The speaker John Scott, Chief Executive, Glasgow 2014 Commonwealth Games was an entertaining as well as putting across the severity of the project and the obstacles that the Games faces.
The event was also important as it represented the beginning of the relationship between IBC and ACCA which has been formed as a result of the work of Houston Ayre a member of both the ACCA and A IBC Committee Member in Scotland. So looking forward to see how this develops.

Today as Institute of Business Consulting (IBC) Chair in Scotland I attended the Chartered Management Institute (CMI) in Glasgow. The event was well attended by the active CMI members in Scotland along with several members of key CMI staff.
The opening speech by Derek Little covered the change in leadership and the impending re-branding of CMI to better address the new developments within the institute.
