One of the best presentations on the I have seen was given by Eben Moglen at the Plone Conference in 2006, It touches the challenges and possibility’s that face both community and software. It shows a great understanding of history and vision of the evolution of the future.

I love the concept of “the Mathematics Sellers” and the “Transportation” he uses to begin the presentation from a common point of understanding.

Eben Moglen, Founder of the Software Freedom Law Canter, was one of the people involved heavily in GPL 3, which we have accepted at some point since it has become standard without even thinking about it. The vision he portrays of the development of Software and Community is interesting and can be followed in his blog Freedom Now.
