The only problem with upgrading to Windows 7 was that I along with others lost the 1024*768 resolution. After searching the Net I found this useful hack to give two new resolutions to the EEE PC.

    1. Run Regedit
    2. Search and Modify all values “display1_DownScalingSupported” from 0 to 1 (you have to change them all)
    3. Reset the system
    4. Change the screen resolution to either one of the previous settings or to the new resolutions of 1024*768 or 1152*864

I am currently using 1152*864 resolution and it seems to be working fine.

It worked on my new EEE PC and I think it should work on all windows 7 systems but please it is at your own risk.

I tried it on my notebook. I was able to have two more options, as you have stated, in my resolution setting but every time I try to change into 1024×768 or 1152×864, the system shuts down and restarts. I want to change the resolution to be able to install a program. Please help. Thanks.

It worked fine for me I am not sure why your machine would shut down, It may be dependant on several factors my best advice is to google display1_DownScalingSupported and your machine model a shut down. Sorry i don’t know the answer.
